Update: it’s been nearly a year and the hinge is stiff as ever. I’ve really liked having this. A bit bulky but it pays off in its sturdiness. ?I’ve had this magnetic ring for a few months now. It’s holding up well, the ring remains stiff. The magnetic adhesion is pretty good if you shake hard enough it will come off but I have rarely ever had it come off and real every day use. It rotates Easily but remains stiff along that axis, which is a good thing. The one thing I would note is that it does not rotate on ball bearings, the magnet in contact with the case actually slides. If you get sand stuck under there it will scratch your case, which happened to me. Fortunately my ring is always on so you don’t see it. I take the ring off when I put my phone on my charging stand which is the whole reason I bought this (the ability to easily remove and replace the ring every day). So far I’m pretty happy. It is on the bulkier side but works well and serves its purpose.
